This certification is awarded by the CFP® Board of Standards, and denotes a financial planning professional's utmost commitment to competency and always serving in the best interest of clients. Gary earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical and Geological engineering from Michigan Technological University, and is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington state.

Though it may sound unusual coming from a financial adviser with experience as an engineer, Gary counsels clients to avoid unnecessarily complex financial plans and approaches. His message is clear and consistent on this point: he believes people benefit when they realize financial success does not require purchasing expensive, difficult to understand products and investments. According to Gary, "This isn't rocket science, and people shouldn't feel a need to seek out over-engineered solutions to their financial goals." When it comes to personal finance everyone has different needs, therefore one size does not fit all. Gary concludes, "A common formula for success is to keep most of it simple and low-cost."

Gary and his family live in Olympia, and have been residents of Washington for over 35 years. They enjoy the wide range of attractions and activities offered by the Pacific Northwest, including hiking, trips to the coast, Seattle Mariner baseball games, and of course attending the world-famous Western Washington State Fair in Puyallup every September.
